  • Welcome to my Blog!

I am a lifestyle photographer, specialising in pets, children & people.  Based in East Sussex, near the wonderful town of Brighton, I am very used to traveling up & down motorways so happy to travel to your location.

Here is where I will be updating my latest shoots and would love to know what you think.

Laura & Henrietta

I know, it’s been a long time since I updated – apologies, apologies, apologies.  What can I say – moving is time consuming.  Not that the move itself was difficult in the slightest, it went like a dream and we love our new home, plus it’s a great base to work from.  The problem was I took one and a half weeks out to unpack boxes, organise and generally enjoy our new home.  Now the point is,  if one is working flat out to start with, it gets a bit tricky to squash one and half weeks of extra stuff into the little time available, whilst avoiding divorce, starvation (no chance!) and severe sleep deprivation…………so my blog was one of the casualties.

I’m still busy which is great, but life is normal again, so the plan is to post a bit more regularly.

Just before we moved I had the pleasure of doing an equine shoot for Laura and her horse Henrietta.  Now the thing to understand here is that dear Henn is  quite a character and she likes to eat………..constantly.  So Laura had the excellent idea to use the school where there was no grass = no food.  Well it was a great idea, but Henn was not impressed and some of the looks she gave me clearly indicated I was the guilty party.  However, we did get some nice shots.  But who wants “nice” shots, I don’t, I like images that have the WOW factor.  After we moved out of the school we went to a nearby area complete with mini lake, bales of hay and long, long grass – then the magic happened.  We had a great time, the sun started to set so we had “the golden hour”  of perfect luscious light – and Henn?  Yes, she continued to eat, but we did manage to keep her attention for long enough to get some beautiful images.

Here’s a small selection, hope you enjoy and do let me know what you think.

Julie McLeod - I’ve had a rough couple days (recovering from surgery) and logging back on to see these beautiful shots does me good. Big smile here. My favorite is the golden hour one where they are walkng along next to the hay bales – you could not have beat that light. And next favortie is the second-to-last one. These are magic – the bond between horse and rider caught perfectly…
